Bones that resonate - Currents that carry

Reflections on the theme from the three teachers of the New Year’s CI Fest. These reflections will serve as inspiration for their classes.

Bones that resonate Currents that Carry.
Makes me think of how within every seemingly solid thing, there is space, there are hollows. And how our bones, like fluted reeds are carrying invisible voices.

Bones as Grounding as Safety | Fluids as Softening as Connecting | Curiosity as  Listening as the Space Between

This offering aims to expand one’s range in partnering in ways that feel safe, grounded and easeful; it offers simple solutions to domains of contact improvisation that may have felt limited.

This balance between the secure, defined stability that bony structures provide and the interconnecting currents of fluid movement finds expression in three domains:

  • Fresh inventiveness in solo exploration,
  • Greater range of choice-making in duet interactions,
  • And then playing with these strategies for initiating and participating safely in group ‘mixers’ using light touch and undemanding contact.
